What I sell

Four services. One rate card. No fine print.

Consulting, automation, custom builds, and coaching. Most jobs blend two — a morning of consulting that turns into a small automation, or coaching bolted onto a build hand-off. You approve the scope and the price before anything starts.

01 · Consulting

Consulting — strategy & second opinion

Bring the messy middle: ops that feel stuck, a tool decision, an AI idea you don’t trust yet. I sit with you, map what’s actually happening, and tell you what to do — including “don’t spend the money.”

  • Ops & workflow review — where hours leak
  • Build-vs-buy call on AI tools you already pay for
  • Automation opportunity map with honest sequencing
  • Written recap you keep, whether we build or not
Hourly$125/hr
Half-day · up to 4 hrs$500
Full-day · up to 8 hrs$900 save $100

On-site across Monmouth County or remote. In-county travel is on me; the clock runs on working time.

02 · Automation

Automation — busywork, handled

I wire your inbox, calendar, CRM, and paperwork into systems that run themselves. Same $125/hr labor — plus whatever the job actually needs at cost. Sometimes that’s a $20/mo Claude account. Sometimes it’s a new machine. Never a markup.

  • Email briefs, intake triage & routing
  • Lead capture, follow-up & scheduling
  • Permit packets, forms & repetitive paperwork
  • Tested on your real data, docs included
Labor$125/hr
Subscriptionsat cost
Hardwareat cost

Example: a morning email brief is often 2–4 hrs + a ~$20/mo Claude subscription you own. A multi-system rollout is scoped fixed. See bands below.

03 · Custom builds

Custom web & app development

When off-the-shelf won’t cut it, I design and ship the thing that does — web apps, desktop tools, mobile apps, dashboards. Scoped fixed-price. You own the code outright.

  • Full-stack web apps (React, Python, TypeScript)
  • Desktop software (Linux, macOS, Windows)
  • Mobile apps (iOS & Android)
  • Internal dashboards & ops tools + 30-day support
Typical range$15K – $25K
CapNone — scoped

Bigger than $25K? Totally normal for multi-platform work. The scoping doc names the fixed number before code starts.

04 · Coaching

AI basics — learn the machine

Yes, it’s consulting — the hands-on kind. How your computer actually works, how to use the terminal and file explorer without fear, how to install agent CLIs, and how to use Claude & ChatGPT well. No jargon. Your keyboard, your pace.

  • Computer fundamentals: files, apps, accounts, backups
  • Terminal basics & navigating the file explorer
  • Installing & running agent CLIs for the first time
  • Everyday AI: prompts, limits & staying safe
Hourly$125/hr
Half-day · up to 4 hrs$500
Full-day · up to 8 hrs$900 save $100

Same rate card as consulting. Solo or small-team sessions, in person or remote. Notes & cheat-sheets included.

Full pricing

Know the number before we start.

Hourly work bills at $125/hr. Day blocks discount the day. Builds and bigger automations convert to a fixed quote in the scoping doc — you approve it before anything is built.

Consulting & coaching rate card

$125/hr family
BlockTimePrice
HourlyBest for a question, a review, a first lesson. 1 hr min, then 30-min increments $125/hr
Half-dayBest for a working session or team lesson. Up to 4 hrs, one sitting $500
Full-dayBest for an install + train day or ops deep-dive. Up to 8 hrs, one day $900 Save $100 vs hourly.
How day blocks work: one topic, one day, momentum. We scope the goal up front, work the block, and you keep the notes, recap, and next-step list. Unused time doesn’t roll over — we plan the day so it doesn’t need to.

Automation: what moves the price

Labor + at-cost parts
Simple

2–4 hrs labor

Ex: morning email brief on your existing inbox + ~$20/mo Claude account you own.
Standard

8–16 hrs labor

Ex: intake → routing → follow-up across CRM + inbox. Uses tools you already pay for.
Involved

20+ hrs, fixed scope

Ex: multi-system pipes, dispatch boards, or a job that needs a dedicated machine you own.
My time$125/hr · scoped
Subscriptions & hardwareat cost · $0 markup
Labor is where the judgment lives. Parts are pass-through: Claude/ChatGPT plans, domains, or a computer if the job genuinely needs one — bought on your account, in your name.
Honest line: sometimes it’s super simple (an afternoon + $20). Sometimes it isn’t (new hardware, multiple systems). The scoping doc separates the two before you commit.

Custom builds: the $15K–$25K band, and why there’s no cap

Fixed-price · you own it
Focused tool / single platform~$15K
Full app / multi-surface (web + ops tool)~$20–25K
Multi-platform (web + desktop + mobile)$25K+ · quoted
What moves it: number of surfaces, roles & permissions, integrations, data migration, and how finished the design needs to be on day one. What doesn’t: agency overhead — there isn’t any.
Included in every build: scoping doc with screens & edge cases, weekly working demos on your data, operator docs, hand-off training, and 30 days of support. Source code and accounts transfer to you.

Half-day block covers this exactly ($500). Full-day ($900) covers up to 8 hrs — the call will confirm which fits.

Process

Four steps. No runaround.

Same spine for a two-hour consult and a $25K build. You know the price before work starts, and you see progress while it’s happening.

Discovery call

30 minutes. You show me the bottleneck in plain terms. I tell you whether I can help, what it looks like, and what it costs to find out more. Free

Scoping doc

Exactly what gets done, how long it takes, and the number — hourly math or a fixed build price. You approve before anything starts.

Build / automate / teach

I do the work in the open: weekly demos on your data for builds, working sessions for automation, hands-on lessons for coaching.

Hand-off

Docs written for operators, training on your machines, accounts in your name. Builds include 30 days of support. You own it all.

The first call is free. The scoping doc commits you to nothing. If we don’t proceed, you keep the doc — and the plan inside it.

Fit

Who this clicks for — and who should skip it

✓ Trades & field teams

Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, landscaping. Crews in trucks, paperwork piling up at the shop. Automation + a little coaching goes a long way.

✓ Small professional shops

Law, real estate, accounting, retail. Intake and follow-up eating billable hours. Consulting first, then the smallest automation that helps.

✓ Curious beginners

Never touched a terminal? Perfect. Coaching starts at the file explorer and ends with you running an agent CLI yourself.

✕ Slide-deck shoppers

If you want a keynote on “the future of AI,” I’m the wrong call. I bill for working systems and working knowledge — not decks.

FAQ

Asked on real calls.

How do the hourly, half-day, and full-day consulting blocks compare?

Hourly ($125/hr) is for tight questions: review my setup, sanity-check a quote, unstick one workflow. Half-day ($500 / up to 4 hrs) is a real working session — audit plus fixes, or a team lesson with setup. Full-day ($900 / up to 8 hrs) is an install-and-train day or an ops deep-dive; you save $100 vs hourly because one focused day beats four scattered hours.

What does automation actually end up costing?

Labor at $125/hr plus parts at cost — and parts are often small. A morning email brief might be 2–4 hours plus a ~$20/month Claude subscription on your account. A CRM + inbox routing job might be 8–16 hours using tools you already pay for. If the job needs a dedicated computer or spans multiple systems, we name that in the scoping doc and fix the number before work starts. No markups, ever.

Will I need to buy a new computer or a subscription?

Only if the job genuinely needs it. Many automations run fine on what you have plus a $20/month AI plan. If a workflow needs an always-on machine, I’ll spec the cheapest box that does the job, you buy it in your name, and I set it up inside your day block or scoped hours. You keep every account and receipt.

Why is custom development $15K–$25K, and what does “no cap” mean?

$15K covers a focused single-surface tool done right — design, build, test on your data, docs, training, 30-day support. $20–25K is a fuller app with more screens, roles, or integrations. Past $25K is multi-platform work (web + desktop + mobile) or heavy data plumbing. “No cap” just means I won’t squeeze a big job into a small box — the scoping doc names the real fixed number first.

I barely know how my computer works. Is AI basics coaching really for me?

That’s exactly who it’s for. We start where you are — files and folders, the terminal without fear, installing your first agent CLI together, then everyday use of Claude or ChatGPT: what’s good, what’s risky, what to never paste. Bring your own laptop. Leave with cheat-sheets and something you installed yourself.

Do you do retainers or ongoing support?

No required retainers. Builds include 30 days of support. After that, most clients just book hourly or day blocks when something needs tuning — same $125/hr card. If you want a standing check-in, we’ll set it up as a plain scheduled block, quoted up front.

Where do we meet, and who shows up?

In person across Monmouth County — your shop, your machines — or remote when the job doesn’t need the room. Either way you get me, Peter Byrnes, the person who does the work. No account managers, no outsourced crew.

I don’t pitch what I haven’t built.
